the window to my mind...
15 year old female terrier with congestive heart failure. Image on right is October 2012, 2 months after diagnosis. The image on the right is April 2013. Notice how as the disease has progressed, the heart has become more enlarged, and the abdominal cavity has become filled with fluid. At her most recent checkup, she was also diagnosed with an atrial fibrillation. Her heart rate was 216. So now she will be on a new medication (the name of which escapes me) to help control the afib. Her dose of furosemide was also increased to help control the fluid buildup. They also drained over 1000cc of fluid from her abdomen.
